<description><![CDATA[<p>Summary:<br/>Provides occupational therapy examination and evaluation to determine prognosis, provide intervention, and update plan of care.<br/>Assists manager/supervisor with clinical and operational issues.  Works with manager to improve processes and utilization of rehab services.<br/><br/>Position Responsibilities:<br/>Consults with medical, ancillary professionals and other team members/supervisors to provide optimum quality patient care and effective operations<br/><br/>Demonstrates comprehensive evaluation skills and interventions. Maintains and demonstrates high standards of professional ethics.<br/><br/>Job Essentials:<br/>- Performs an gastrointestinal, genitourinary and integumentary assessment of the patient, leading to development, implementation and evaluation of a plan of care<br/>- Administers, monitors and documents therapeutic interventions and regimes related to wound, ostomy or continence.<br/>- Effectively manages rapidly changing situations.<br/>- Participates in clinical decision-making.<br/>- Educates patient and family/responsible party regarding disease process, individual care needs, wellness, safety issues, etc.<br/>- Delegates and monitors care rendered by other members of nursing department and healthcare team.<br/>- Demonstrates standard precautions and patient safety principles in practice.<br/>- Participates in orientation, education and development of healthcare team.<br/>- Identifies and participates in the performance improvement activities.<br/>- Maintains professional and departmental level competencies.<br/>- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team to achieve highest clinical quality<br/>- Review of patient cases and implementation of evidenced based practice to affect patient outcomes.<br/>- Develops and presents recommendations to nursing leadership for best practice that supports nursing excellence.<br/><br/>Educational Requirements, Qualifications:  <br/>Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and have valid NJ RN License. BSN required. Current BLS. Current board certification as WOC (ET) nurse (CWOCN) by the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nursing Certification Board or presently enrolled in WOCN accredited ET program with certification within 12 months of hire. Refer to the Educational/Regulatory Requirement (Department Specific) policy in the Nursing Administrative Manual. Demonstrates knowledge of nursing skills, hospital practices, procedures and standards.  Perfects skills and stays abreast of current nursing practice through on-going education, journals, etc.  Must have strong communication skills.  Must be able to coordinate efforts of a team of care providers. Must have current proof of driver's license and auto insurance if position requires travel within hospital system.</p>]]></description>
