HR Manager

Summary:
This role is a deployed HR Leader whose primary customer-set is the management team and the employees of an assigned facility and/or business unit. The primary accountability is to provide HR expertise, coaching and guidance, employee/labor relations strategies, processes, and practices that align with and accelerate the Business objectives. This will be accomplished through the partnership with Virtua managers, by aligning services across the Virtua HR system and through leadership and development coaching.

Position Responsibilities:
Acts as an Employee Relations advisor to employees and managers.

Coaches, counsels and guides managers when interpreting policy/ practice and executing disciplinary actions.
Educates employees and managers on policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations.
Reviews HR policies and provides policy training to managers and staff as needed.
Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints.
Conducts investigations as needed
Conduct exit interviews, analyzes data, identifies trends and develops strategies for minimizing turnover.
Conducts Dispute Resolution panels as required

Act as a Business Coach to the management team of assigned area
Provide coaching to their assigned management leadership team and their staff;
Foster teamwork, innovative resolution, and inclusion;
Promote management practices which create a high performance culture focused on the STAR behaviors;
Lead, measure and facilitate the improvement of leadership and team effectiveness;
Keep current on competitive HR trends and innovative practices

Acts as a Labor Relations advisor/consultant to managers
Maintains working relationship with Union representatives and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of contract provisions.
Provides contract interpretation expertise.
Advises management when investigating, answering and settling grievances.
Attends grievance meetings/arbitrations as required.
Provides labor relations support during contract negotiations.
Conducts union avoidance training as needed

Acts as part of an interdisciplinary team to assure alignment between HR support and client group needs.
Drives the various HR initiatives within client groups to include annual EOS and follow-up actions, organizational and talent review and targeted salary reviews, etc.
Serves as program/project lead for system initiatives.
Delivers communications and training/coaching on-site, across functions including but not limited to: recruitment, talent acquisitions, benefits, compensation, total rewards, employee relations and performance management.

Partner within HR to provide seamless delivery of HR Services to the divisions (One HR)
Develops (in some cases) and facilitates education programs designed to meet local or system-wide (CFL) needs
Participates in performance improvement initiatives
Other duties as assigned


Position Qualifications Required
Experience Required:
Five plus years of management experience in Human Resources; 5-8 years of progressive HR experience.
HR Acumen
Ability to effectively coach others through complex, difficult and emotional issues.
Extensive knowledge of union contract(s)
Presentation skills
Conflict Resolution Skills
Must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Required Education:
BS degree preferably in HR, business or other related course of study.

Training/Certifications/Licensure:

Professional Human Resources (PHR) or Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification preferred.
