Responsibilities include individually assessing, diagnosing, prescribing medications and patients according to the established protocols in collaboration with physicians. The NP will function within the scope of practice as defined by the state nurses practice act, delineation of privileges set forth by the practice setting and the American Nurses’ Association Code of Ethics. Provide triage referral coordination, develops differential diagnosis, and individualized care plans along with patient education for specific disease types as appropriate.

Position Responsibilities:

Provides the range of treatment or service needed by the patient based on the patient’s age specific and acute/chronic or health maintenance needs. This range of treatment includes consultations and referrals. Will perform therapeutic treatments, including but not limited to: wound care, suturing, performing and assisting with minor procedures, and drain removal.

For uncommon or unstable conditions, the NP will participate in the diagnosis with consultation and either refer to a specialist or participate in the dual management and treatment with the collaborating physician.

Clinical:
The certified athletic trainer will perform the following functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, first aide treatment as set forth by the NATA Board of Certification
Refer athletes for appropriate diagnostic and follow-up procedures and subsequent injury tracking
Assist in obtaining medical care appropriate for injury
Order, maintain and inventory supplies and clinical equipment
Community Programs/Education:
The certified athletic trainer will develop and implement quarterly, and PRN workshops/seminars on relevant sports medicine topics
Certified Athletic trainer will promote injury prevention through handouts, lectures, weekly sport tips
Program Development:
Develop relationships within community to promote Virtua Sports Medicine and its related services resulting in increased referrals to the Washington Twp Wellness Center services and other Virtua services
Work directly with leaders to identify objectives related to communication and program development strategies at Total Turf Experience
Required Experience:
Minimum of (3) years athletic training experience in a sports environment

Required Education:
