<title><![CDATA[Chaplain (Per Diem 9am 5pm) - (Mt Holly, New Jersey)]]></title>
<description><![CDATA[<p>Summary:<br/>This position exists to assist patients, families and health care workers in meeting their religious/spiritual needs; to network with community organizations and resources in matters related to health and spiritual care; and to serve as a resource for Virtua on spiritual/religious matters.<br/><br/>Position Responsibilities:<br/>By way of responding to referrals from various sources, to assess the level of spiritual distress, provide appropriate interventions to patients and their families/friends in meeting their religious and spiritual needs through visitation, sacramental and ritual ministry and referral services and documenting the outcome of these interventions in the patient record.<br/>To provide the same comprehensive pastoral care to the health care workers and volunteers as needed and requested.<br/><br/>To oversee the chapel and pastoral care offices 7 days a week, 24 hours a day; processing requests for spiritual interventions on a priority basis, dispatching professional chaplains, community clergy and/or specially trained clergy and lay volunteers as appropriate; maximum response time per request being 24 hours.  To serve as a liaison and facilitator for area clergy.  To plan and lead religious services.<br/><br/>Recruit, Train, And provide continuing Education for Volunteer Chaplain Aides<br/>By way of participating in interdisciplinary care rounds on CCU , 5 Stokes, 3 NE, and on 4 NE/NW and serving on various local and system-wide committees, such as critical care and bioethics, to act as advisor to the health care team on religious and/or spiritual issues impacting the plan of care. <br/><br/>Position Qualifications Required<br/>Experience Required:<br/>A minimum of 3 years experience in parish or institutional ministry.<br/>1 year experience in hospice or healthcare setting preferred.<br/><br/>Required Education:<br/>Education and training in ministry sufficient to meet the criteria of the chaplain&iquest;s own faith group for professional ministry; typically the incumbent will have earned the MDiv degree from an accredited seminary. <br/>In addition, one unit of Clinical Pastoral education required.<br/>Denominational (faith group) endorsement required.</p><p>Training/Certifications/Licensure:<br/>70 hrs per year of continuing education is expected.<br/>Board Certified Clinical Chaplain certificate or equivalent is preferred.</p>  Virtua Health is an equal employment opportunity employer and does not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, age, religion, physical or mental disability, marital status, national origin or any other category protected by federal or state law.]]></description>
